Wedding Photo Poses 101: Because posing the bridal party can be a beast.

When it comes to knocking out wedding photo poses, it can seem like the longest, most drawn-out portion of the day.  The pressure is really on to get great shots in a limited amount of time!  Of course, we all have the vision of riding off into the sunset with endless opportunities to have magazine-ready pictures, but most of the time, that just isn’t how it is.  Your guests and family members will most likely be trying to find every opportunity to talk to you, and your wedding party will be secretly trying to inch their way to the bar.  Getting everyone to smile and look at the camera in unison becomes a literal chore…. HOW HARD IS IT TO JUST LOOK AT THE PHOTOGRAPHER?  But somehow, it’s a near impossible feat!

Here are just a few quick go-to poses to add some pizzazz to your wedding photos – and free up some extra time for cocktail hour, too!

Group Wedding Poses

1. The Classic Bouquet Shot

This timeless photo always adds variety in your photo stream.  Bring the focus to more simple details like the bouquet by excluding the bridal party’s faces.

2. Groomsmen “showing off their kicks” Pose

Another no face, go to pose.  This is also helpful because you don’t have to worry about everyone looking every-which-way!

3. Bridesmaid vs. Groomsman Pose – He’s mine now!

Don’t let the bridal party lose interest in the group shots – mix it up with a little creativity!  Goofy faces will add personality in your photos, and it always leads to everyone genuinely laughing and smiling, which makes for great shots after as well!

4. The Photo Bomb

South Florida Wedding Photographer Treasure Coast

It’s photo-bombing with class?  Regardless, it’s fun and for some reason, silly faces and tuxedos just work.

Bride and Groom Poses

This is, after all, the bread and butter of your wedding photo portraits.  By this time, you’re already exhausted from keeping your wedding party together and the hunger is probably setting in.  Not to worry, these poses will help move us along to the reception and still get a great variety of bride and groom portraits!

5. Forehead to Forehead Pose

This is definitely a must have for your wedding photo poses.  First, because it’s just such a sweet and tender moment.  But secondly, and most importantly, it will be the first time that you get to really embrace your spouse for the first time alone (the photographer doesn’t count, right?), and it will really recconnect the two of you in that moment.  It’s so easy to get lost in the hustle and bustle of guests, vendors, and music.

6. The Look Back Pose

This is just another excuse to get a little cuddly for a bit longer, but it also makes for an adorable wedding photo.

Vero Maternity Shoot for the Sweetest Baby Girl

I love being a maternity photographer! Being an expecting mama myself, I have been over the moon during my maternity photoshoots lately! What best way to connect with my fellow mamas than comparing baby bump sizes, pregnancy jokes, and future family plans together!...
