I love the clean, bright, minimalistic family photos. Barefoot in the sand, flowy dresses, white button downs, that is GOALS for me! And the Priebe family pulls this loo off absolutely effortlessly. They would literally be the poster for “what to wear during a beach photoshoot.”
We planned for a nice and early sunrise photoshoot at their private beach community and even though I shoot there quite regularly, these might just be my favorite shots to date. The kids were wanting to explore and play, and instead of us trying to wrangle them in, we let them set the pace, and we ended up getting the most adorable photos of them hanging underneath the pier.
Sessions like this are a PERFECT example on why we just need to let kids be kids during family photos. This is why the storytelling part of my brand really comes together and hits home for parents. Think about it! Imagine if all your photos are stiff, posed shots with everyone doing their rehearsed, “for the camera” smiles. They may be beautiful and traditional, but will they really be that special for years to come?
Think about what images like the ones below would be like for your family. For your children – your grandchildren – even your great-great-grandchildren. For the future generations that may never know you, but feel though they can still connect with you from real, intimate moments frozen in these photos. They will feel your smile, feel the wind blowing through your hair, and connect with your memory on this little piece of paper called a photograph. What a gift that would be.
So I encourage you – document your life…. the REAL life. The one that will bring you closer to those who love you, know you, and will only know you from the photographs you leave behind.
